The Arctic region is a challenging area for conceptual evaluations. There are few analogues and precedents so producing a bottom up definition requires a different approach from conventional developments.
Genesis has developed its methods to enable the critical development aspects to be addressed. These include:
- Influence of the environmental conditions (ice, seabed scour, icebergs, ice breakers, etc) and the impact on drilling and installation weather windows
- Consideration of the environment and the necessary design constraints imposed to protect the region
- Logistical impacts on supply centres, crew mobilisations, export tanker operations
- Influences on process design, flow assurance and substructures
Our methodologies and procedures have been updated and modified to enable transparency of the process for conceptual development evaluations, so that optimum solutions can be selected for more detailed analysis.
