Genesis presents paper at conference marking 25th Anniversary of the Piper Alpha Disaster

Genesis shall be presenting a conference paper at an important industry event to mark the 25th Anniversary of the Piper Alpha Disaster. On the 6th July 1988, 167 people were killed when a hydrocarbon leak ignited on the Piper Alpha Platform in the UK North Sea with devastating effects. The incident led to major changes to the design and management of offshore installations in the UKCS, many becoming global industry good practice. Piper Alpha memorial statue

Colin Deddis, a Specialist Process Consultant with Genesis in Aberdeen, will present a paper "Relief Systems - are you sure you can rely on them", in the Hazard Management and Process Technology Conference Session. The Piper 25 Conference, 18-20 June, will take place in Aberdeen and includes prestigious speakers from the industry including Lord Cullen of Whitekirk, who led the Piper Alpha Incident Investigation, and Judith Hackett CBE, Chair of the UK Health and Safety Executive.
