Flow Assurance

Flow assurance has always been a major component in our service offering. It concerns itself with all the issues important to maintaining the flow of oil and gas from reservoir to reception facilities. This core area of expertise is complimented by access to other disciplines; subsea and process dynamic simulation. Engineers follow the flow from reservoir through to production facilities, recognising that fluids do not acknowledge facilities boundaries. We regularly become involved with the following:

The core team has been involved in most of the subsea developments in the North Sea in recent years and more than ten deep water developments. It has has a wealth of experience in all types of flow assurance from development studies, e.g., system modelling for field development studies through detailed design to operations support and troubleshooting. This experience is backed by an extensive suite of industry recognised software which includes OLGA-2000, PIPESIM, PIPESIM-NET, PROSPER, GAP and OLGA-HYSYS LINK.

An area where Genesis have used expertise in combined subsea-topsides dynamic models extensively has been in control of severe slugging.The g-SSC slug control system uses topsides control system and a valve at the top of the riser to alter the operation of a pipeline and eliminate severe slugging.
