Subsea and Pipelines

Genesis Subsea Group offers services in all aspects and phases of Subsea engineering. Core staff have detailed knowledge and experience of all types of field development utilising subsea facilities ranging from single well satellite tie-backs to third-party hosts to multi-well green field development with export to platform or shore.

The Group Comprises individuals from a wide cross-section of the subsea industry, who have gained experience at design houses equipment vendors, fabrication yards and installation contractors. Genesis therefore has capability not just to analyse and design facilities on a very detailed basis, but can also provide a more general overview of project development using the amalgamated skills of the group.

Capability also exists within the group to perform all phases of a project from initial screening/feasibility studies, through conceptual and FEED work and into fully detailed design work for manifolds, seabed equipment together with riser and pipeline analysis.

The team incorporates expertise in each of the critical areas in subsea & pipeline engineering including specific expertise in:

Pipeline Engineering
Genesis has assembled a group of pipeline design specialists from within the industry representing over one hundred man-years of experience. The group have the ability to perform all aspects of pipeline design including pipeline stability, span assessment, expansion analysis, upheaval bucking assessment and installation analysis.

Riser Analysis and Design
The subsea group has dedicated individuals able to perform static and dynamic analysis of both flexible and SCR systems using proprietary software.

Seabed Structures
In-house capability exists for complete design of all templates, manifolds, PLEMs and protection structures including foundations specialists, piping analysts and structural engineers. Together with state of the art CAD facilities and experienced piping and structural designers, the group can deliver complete design packages with full specification for all seabed structures.

Controls System Engineering
The subsea team includes a number of dedicated controls specialists who have worked either for or with all of the controls equipment vendors. Specific experience encompasses detailed specification of all types of control systems and umbilicals and includes recent experience supplying Subsea HIPPS systems.

Xmas trees & completions
Several individuals within the group have work experience with tree manufacturers and thus Genesis has detailed capability in tree procurement from fully detailed functional specifications through to control system integration.

Materials & Welding Engineering
Two dedicated metallurgists with detailed experience of many subsea developments are available as internal consultants to the whole subsea group. We also have in-house specialist capability in the specification and selection of coating and CP systems

Project Engineering & Management
Extensive experience has been gained over the last ten years in performing the project engineering and management role for several clients. This has included supervision and monitoring on both a technical, schedule and commercial basis of all aspects of subsea developments including equipment vendors, fabrication yards and installation contractors.

System Engineering (including RAM Analysis and FMECA)
The group has extensive experience in the design of subsea infrastructure from a system perspective so as to ensure successful installation and commissioning as well as to maximise system production availability during operation. As well as defining and managing component factory acceptance tests, SITs and offshore commissioning requirements, the group also has specialised experience in a number of discrete areas of study relating to system operation in general. These include Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) assessments using Fault Tree  Analysis (FTA), Failure Mode and Event Criticality Analysis (FMECA) to demonstrate availability levels and for defining spring philosophies etc.

The Subsea group calls upon other Genesis specialists in the areas of pipeline transient modelling, HSE, Flow Assurance, Project Economics and Cost Estimation.
